The third thematic workshop in Germany is scheduled to take place on 10 December 2018 in Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg, one of the two WinWind model regions.
The workshop will be divided into two sessions. In the first session, key experts will discuss the importance of policies and measures to support the financial participation of citizens and communities, as well as measures to support the procedural participation of municipalities and citizens in spatial planning. Finally they will reflect on a set of relevant policy measures the state government of Brandenburg has recently proposed to implement. In the second session, the audience is given the opportunity to discuss the presented topics.
The workshop is followed by a policy roundtable that will host senior officials from the Ministry of Economy and Energy, elected politicians, decision-makers from the regional planning authorities, project developers and other stakeholders. They will debate whether, and how, to promote measures concerning the procedural and financial participation of citizens and communities in wind energy in Brandenburg.
The workshop is jointly organised by Seecon Ingenieure, the FU Berlin and the business development agency of Brandenburg (Brandenburg Invest, German: Wirtschaftsförderung Berlin-Brandenburg), and will be conducted in German.
