FFU presents WinWind at Agrar-Social Society Spring Meeting

On May 23, 2018 Michael Krug (Environmental Policy Research Center - FFU) presented the WinWind project at this year's Spring Meeting of the Agrar-Social Society (Agrarsoziale Gesellschaft e.V.).

The meeting took place in Brandenburg/Havel and was dedicated to the use of renewables in rural areas. One of the key issues highlighted was the role of social acceptance of wind energy. Mr. Krug presented objectives and activities of the WinWind project, selected findings of recent social acceptance research, results from the first German Stakeholder Desk and selected policy measures in the WinWind target and model regions of Thuringia and Saxony as well as on national and European level seeking to strengthen social acceptance. The 2-day event gathered 120 participants from different public and private actors active in rural development, including from Local Action Groups under the LEADER programme.
