Third WinWind project meeting held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Hosted by WinWind partner ACER, the project consortium met on the largest of the Canary Islands in Santa Cruz de Tenerife from 24-26 September. Representatives of the consortium partners made their way to the Island to ensure that project coordination remains on its current high level.

 

Progress reports on all work packages were given by the work package leaders. The country desks have all been very active and there has been a high number of meetings and events carried out by the respective partners in all participating countries. Nearly all countries have conducted their first thematic workshops involving stakeholders and policy actors. The next steps include policy roundtables and the consultations. Stakeholders will maintain a key role in the project and will be involved soon in the assessment of barriers and drivers, in the selection of good practices and in the transfer of best practices.

 

A central part of the meeting was the discussion and selection of best practice cases as well as a workshop on how these cases can be transferred and validated. It was highlighted, that the format can be adjusted according to the specific context of the countries participatingin the WinWind project taking into account regional/national mentalities and cultures.

 

The meeting was concluded with a tour to ITER - the Instituto Tecnologico y de Energias Renovables, in Cabildo de Tenerife. The tour included a visit to the D-Alix supercomputer and data cenre, Windenergy plants and bioclimatic houses as well as the 480kW PV-installation.

 

The next meeting will take place in Riga on March 5-7,2019.
