KAPE kicks-off Polish National Stakeholder Desk in Warsaw

The initial meeting of the Polish Stakeholder Desk was organised by the Polish National Energy Conservation Agency (KAPE) on 22nd of February 2018. The guiding theme of the meeting was: “Barriers and drivers of wind energy development in Poland”. One of the major objectives was to gather the most important stakeholders, define their roles in the National Desk, and collect their input for the project's and desk's activities. KAPE representatives presented the WinWind’s approach, objectives, planned outcomes and the idea behind the National Desks.

23 Stakeholders joined the launch of the desk, all of which actively participated in the meeting, emphasised the need for joint action, and voiced their commitment to actively contribute to the realisation of the Desk's tasks.

Andrzej Koniecko, expert from the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, one of the selected wind energy scarce regions in the project, presented on the local conditions and state of wind energy development in his region. He gave insights into the social acceptance of wind energy in his region, by showing results of questionnaires conducted by the Energy Agency of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

During the fruitful discussion, the meeting participants pointed out, that society should be prepared to absorb innovations and be made aware of the benefits coming from wind energy. That’s why educational campaigns, best practices identification and dissemination key success factors.
