How to foster social acceptance - sharing results in the Baltic Region

In the framework of the INTERREG Project "Baltic Energy Areas - A Planning Perspective" (BEA-APP), Aija Zučika from WinWind Partner Latvian Environmental Investment fund was invited to speak at the Conference on "Renewable energy and spatial planning: challenges and future perspectives" in Riga on 29 January 2019.

In her presentation on creating social acceptance for on-shore wind energy, she highlighted the main principles which facilitate social acceptance in Wind energy projects as identified by the WinWind project and illustrated with the best practice examples from the WinWind project countries.

The BEA-APP project is part of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, and looks at spacial planning with the aim to increase the RES share in the region. The project provides spacial planning instruments targeting renewable energy development, while developing stakeholder involvement methods and financing systems to foster social acceptance.
